In recent decades, american and european automobile industry have substaniated inherent industrial qualtiy standards for suppliers; QS-9000, VDA 6.2, EAQF and AVSQ. For suppliers, this meant high costs considering that these specific requirements towards suppliers made certification towards multiple standards a must.
ISO/TS 16949:2002 is a unique standard, most recently founded, which will in the future define homogenus structure of quality standards in the automotive industry worldwide.
